Station 3
Jesus is Condemned by the Sanhedrin
“Condemned”
Charcoal Painting by Christopher Sampson
Station III seemed to center not on the chaos of the erupting crowd in the room, but on the quiet acceptance by Jesus of the Father’s will. His eyes are closed and His head is slightly bent, as if drawing strength from prayer. Jesus is not looking at the screaming mob, because what was important at that moment was saying his own Fiat, his own ‘yes’ to whatever the Father asked of him.
